The Purchase Area Sexual Assault Center is a 501C 3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing quality services to victims of sexual violence who reside in the eight-county Purchase Area. Incorporated since 1987, the Purchase Area Sexual Assault Center has remained true to its mission to engage in all phases of support for those in need of our services. The Purchase Area Sexual Assault Center is home to the region’s rape crisis center as well as the region’s children’s advocacy center. As such, the Center specializes in and implements empirically supported treatment approaches to assist victims of all ages in dealing with trauma and abuse. The Purchase Area Sexual Assault Center’s main campus is located in McCracken County with satellite offices located in Graves and Calloway Counties. Additionally, the Center opened Kentucky’s first Expressive Therapy Center in March of 2007 at the McCracken County location to ensure that those who enter our doors are offered services that are proven effective in facilitating help and healing for trauma survivors. Our child friendly environment and the work of our skilled clinical team ensure that children can begin the journey to healing and hope.

Our Forensic Team works diligently with law enforcement and social service workers to provide or facilitate forensic interviews and/or forensic medical exams. It is our mission to do our part to aid in successful prosecution of predators, while making the experience as minimally evasive as possible for the child. The child’s well-being is our paramount concern.

Likewise, our Advocacy and Support Teams are available to assist survivors and their families as they navigate the legal system effectively and confidently. We are ready to assist individuals at the moment they need us- whether at a local emergency room, police department or through a referral source. We are available 24 hours a day via a crisis line. Our staff and volunteers are equipped and ready to meet the needs of those in need of assistance.

Additionally, our dedicated Prevention Team offers prevention and educational programming to the Purchase Area, working diligently to raise awareness and promote prevention to ensure a safer Commonwealth. Everything we do… every service we provide is free and confidential.
