OUR RESPONSE

A children's advocacy center is a child friendly facility that serves as the first stop for children entering the justice system as a result of suspected sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect and dependency, and those who have witnessed a violent crime.  Last year, 6,096 children received critical services at a children's advocacy center in Kentucky.  The network of 15 CACs in Kentucky ensures that children in every geographic location in the state have access to a CAC.  Of the children served by our CACs last year:

  • 80% were involved in sexual abuse cases
  • 32% were between the ages of 0-5
  • 70% were female
