The Kentucky River CAC is located in the Eastern Mountain region (formerly the Kentucky River Region) in southeastern Kentucky and serves 8 counties including Breathitt, Knott, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Owsley, Perry and Wolfe. This CAC provides a full array of services including forensic medical exams, forensic interviews, court and personal advocacy, counseling, referrals and follow up. Staff at KRCAC works with  members of the Multi Disciplinary teams in the counties served and coordinates services with other local, state and national agencies. KRCAC has a full time community education and prevention coordinator. This service provides educational programs and prevention information to children, families, college classes, lay persons and other professionals regarding child  abuse, bullying  and other selected topics. This agency is co-located with the local Rape Crisis Center and the CARES program that provides counseling for sexually abused children.
